Game UI design for a 1v1 Sniper arena game where the players are blind and must rely on controller rumble and UI hints to find and shoot their opponent.

A Shot in the Dark was made in 48 hours for the 2026 Global Game Jam by a team of 3 developers and 1 UI/UX designer. The Jam theme was "Masks".
The game is a 3D 1v1 sniper arena where players are given a few seconds to look at their surroundings before being blinded by a mask. From there, they must rely on controller rumble and UI hints to find and shoot their opponents.
Controller vibration/rumble increases as you aim towards an opponent. The sniper crosshairs will turn from green to red as it gets closer to an opponent.
When players bump into walls, the box surrounding the crosshair will highlight which direction they are hitting.
I created a high-tech inspired UI, taking influence from military fighter jet HUD's and night-vision camera aesthetics.
